The cultural achievements of the Edineț district are rich in events that aim to preserve and promote the traditions and customs of the northern region.

Turn on the lights

We begin the cultural year with the Christmas carol festival “Aprindeți luminile” (Light the Lights), which takes place in January, leading up to the celebration of Christmas according to the old calendar. The goal of this festival is to preserve Christmas traditions and customs, bring beautiful carols out of obscurity, and pass them on to the younger generations.

The Easter Festival "Christ is Risen"

The Easter Festival “Christ is Risen” with a thematic exhibition, organized annually in various localities of the Edineț district, under the patronage of the Diocese of Edineț and Briceni.

“Cântă de răsună lunca” is the largest and most prestigious festival in the Edineț district, a folk song and dance competition festival. This festival was inaugurated in 2011 as a district and regional festival by the District Culture Department and is held annually on the third Sunday of June in various localities of the district. The purpose and objectives are to preserve and promote summer traditions and customs, cultivate interest and love for the national folk treasure, involve the younger generation in studying and valuing authentic folklore, establish collaboration, cooperation, and experience exchange between amateur artistic groups, attract tourists, etc.

Day of Traditional Costume

The Day of Traditional Costume – a cultural event titled “I Wear My Traditional Shirt with Pride,” celebrated on the last Sunday of June.

Decade – We are the descendants of Stephen, July 2-12.

Preacurată-i fața pâinii

„Preacurată-i fața pâinii”. The biennial festival and bread exhibition takes place under this theme. The event showcases bread from its origins, ritual bread prepared by the artisans of the district, and products from local producers.

Parcova Nova

The International Creative Camp “Parcova Nova” takes place annually in August in the village of Parcova. The camp gathers painters, sculptors, and artists from various countries, organizing creative workshops, master classes, and experience exchanges for two weeks.

The Ethnicities Festival

The Ethnities Festival is a cultural event organized under the patronage of the Bureau of Interethnic Relations, held annually in September.
